Grapey: A wine described as grapey tastes like biting into a grape bought at the grocery store.

You may think grapey would be a fairly obvious word to associate with wine, but in truth, a wine seldom tastes of the grapes used to produce it. Instead, most wines emit scents and flavors of more complex fruits, like berries, currant, citrus and figs.

Grapey flavors are most common in wines made from concord grapes. Also known as table grapes, concords are commonly used to make jam or consumed alone.
