Legs: Surely you’ve seen someone swirling their red wine around their glass. They’re doing this to see if the wine has legs. Also known as tears, these thick droplets that run down the side of the glass once your stop swirling are rumored to indicate if a wine is high quality and full-bodied. However, there is no proof that supports this theory. The only characteristic that legs have been shown to measure is the amount of alcohol in the wine.
